Gary Sheffield’s HR500 launches at the ‘World Famous’ Cigar Bar

Former MLB slugger Gary Sheffield is a cigar aficionado and following his retirement from baseball, his long time friend Rocky Patel decided to create a cigar that would not only commemorate Sheffield’s 22 year career in Major League Baseball (MLB) but also to celebrate his historic milestone of 500  lifetime (509) home runs.

The Sheffield HR500 is a cigar developed by Patel and Sheffield and Friday October 26th the world class cigar will launch to the public in Fort Myers Florida at the World Famous Cigar Bar’s Gulf Coast Town Center location.

Rich Castiano is proud to announce that Sheffield will be on-location at The World Famous Cigar Bar from 8-11 PM  as will Rocky Patel and other special guests. The night will have it all and the staff at the Cigar Bar has paired this robust cigar with a special barrel aged Butter Pecan ‘Southern’ Old Fashioned as well as Cigar City Brewing’s ‘Good Gourde’ Pumpkin Ale.

Both Cigar City Beer and Sheffield call Tampa, Florida their home base and their latest  ‘Imperial Pumpkin Ale‘ will be the perfect brew to match with the  Sheffield HR5oo, according to Randy Santerfeit, the WFCB’s Beverage Coordinator.

BeverageUnderground.com will be on location as will ‘Jersey John’ who will have his delicious hot dogs and Italian Sausages for sale on the patio at the World Famous Cigar Bar.  The party will go late as the versatile duo ‘Goode-N-Blue‘ will provide music and entertainment.

In addition to the introductory discounts and specials on this great cigar, fans and collectors will get the chance to pickup autographed boxes, baseballs and even bats by the 9-time all-star who played for 8 teams over his 22 year career. Sheffield was a member of the 1997 World Series Champion Florida Marlins.

The limited edition Sheffield HR500 cigar is impressive in both quality and size as Rocky Patel produced a hefty 6.5″ x 52 toro cigar full with flavor and then balanced to a medium to full body richness.

Wrapped in a dark Ecuadorian Habano-seed leaf and using a blend of binder and filler tobacco from Nicaragua and Honduras makes this stick another signature of Patel that delivers  spice, pepper, and coffee nuances.
