The New Belgium Brewing Company has announced that they will be adding 16,000 square-feet to their existing bottling plant and will install a new canning system that will increase production on their Fat Tire Amber Ale, Sunshine Wheat and Ranger IPA.
The growth is a response to the popularity of their beers in cans and the necessary option to serve poolside or in venues and festivals that don’t allow glass bottles. The current canning system produces 60 cans per minute and the proposed system when completed should increase that 6 times to 360 cans per minute.
Based in Fort Collins, Colorado, New Belgium Brewing has limited the distribution of their brands and currently are available in just 29 states. Fat Tire is one of the most sought after American Craft Ales throughout the eastern seaboard, Florida, Ohio and Michigan where it remains unavailable.
