As reported on Beverage Underground Radio former Miami Dolphin linebacker Kim Bokamper will open his second restaurant location at the old KEG Restaurant on Vanderbilt Road in Naples will become Bokamper’s Sport’s Bar & Grill in time for football season.  Bokamper played  as both linebacker and defensive end for the Miami Dolphins from 1976 to 1985, and he has another full-time job as a broadcaster on WQAM in Miami. Bokamper’s has been very successful as both a football analyst as well as a restaurateur.  His  first Bokamper’s restaurant in Plantation is wildly successful with Miami Dolphin, Heat, Marlin, and Panther players, coaches and fans.

Frascatti’s a one-time neighborhood favorite on Airport Road in Naples closed quietly last week.

We’re excited to report that the rumors have been confirmed and the building formerly known as the ‘Original’ Sport’s Page on Shirley Street in Naples has been totally restored by Fadi Rabil and because his name is so frequently mistaken…he’s calling it Freddie Rebel’s Sports Bar.Look for an additional 25 High definition TVs and expect great food.  Fadi is half of the successful husband and wife restaurant team.  Chrissy Bianchi-Rabil has been one of Naples’ favorites for years and is known for her high quality, fresh ingredients and local hospitality. Together, Fadi and Chrissy will split time between their other locations, Chrissy’s Cafe at 3400 Radio Road, and her original location now known as Chrissy’s Bianchi’s, 3340 U.S. 41 E., in Courthouse Shadows. Chrissy also opened and sold Chrissy’s Wildside on Airport near Pine Ridge and together the couple owned and operated Bianchi’s that was located at the Bayfront in Naples. Bianchi’s closed last year.

Beverage Underground Radio will be making its way to Sports Bars all over Southwest Florida this football season broadcasting Avenue 1410/1660 Tailgate Parties. The Avenue is the flagship station for local high school football, NCCA College Football’s Game of the Week, The NFL Network Game of the Week, and ALL Chicago Bears NFL games.

Beverage Underground Radio, Pernod-Ricard and Southern Wine & Spirits will make the 3 up coming series between The Yankees and red Sox more fun. The ABSOLUT RIVALRY will featuring Outrageous Cocktails made with both Absolut Boston Vodka and Absolut Brooklyn Vodka.

South Street City Oven Grill is adding draft taps and craft beer sales are on the rise in Southwest Florida. It’s a great place to try Victory Beer, Blue Point, Magic Hat and many…many…more.

We were just talking about how the Melting Pot on McGregor  Blvd.in Fort Myers is one of the area’s longest running restaurants…and the Melting Pot location in the Hibiscus Center in Naples decided to close their doors. YES! The Melting Pot in Fort Myers is open. Reservations are recommended.

Aiyb Dieng is a local treasure.  The Senegalese Master Percussionist is a resident of Southwest Florida when he’s not collaborating with other world beat and main stream musicians. Aiyb Dieng has put together a trio that will appear every Thursday starting at 7 PM in August . PURE for the Ladies is an all-day delight for ladies visiting the Mercato in Naples and Aiyb Dieng will play a calypso fusion world beat sound that will go perfectly with PURE Urban Oasis delicious offerings and PURE Cocktails. Aiyb Dieng has recorded with Mick Jagger, Brian Eno, Bob Marley, Herbie Hancock, Ginger Baker and Yoko Ono.
