The recent popularity of domestic ‘wheat beers’ certainly should lead to the search for Julius Echter. Brewed since 1643 at the famed Würzburger Hofbräu AG, one of Germany’s oldest breweries, look forward to a cloudy pour with a golden color, a fluffy white head,  lively carbonation and a hint of citrus.  Fruit tones at first sip release to a medium bodied balanced finish. This beer stands above the others, arriving in a .500 ml (16.9 oz.) bottle with 4.9 % alcohol by volume.
