According to NHS Health Scotland the average Scot, drinks the equivalent of nearly 540 pints of beer or 46 bottles of scotch whiskey a year. The figures suggest that Scots slightly out-drink the Irish but are out drinking the English and Welsh by 2½ pints of beer or 2½ large glasses of wine per week.
