Scottish Beer Drinkers Leave Irish, English and Welsh ‘Under the Table’

Scots Barely Beat Irish but English Lag Far Behind
Scottish adults go through 25 per cent more alcohol than their UK neighbors do. According to NHS Health Scotland the average Scot, drinks the equivalent of nearly 540 pints of beer or 46 bottles of scotch whiskey a year. The figures suggest that Scots slightly out drink the Irish but are outdrinking the English and Welsh by 2½ pints of beer or 2½ large glasses of wine per week.
