Diageo ready to purchase Champagne Icons

French Bubbly to be owned by the Brits?
French luxury products group LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton denied reports that it is in talks to sell its champagne business. Diageo is rumored to be buyer of the portfolio that includes Moet & Chandon, Krug, and Dom Perignon. The sale would mean that France’s oldest champagne labels would be British owned. The estimated bid is for 12 billion EURO or nearly 16 Billion US.
