constellation Constellation Brands Moves Portfolio in 19 Wine Markets        Stays At Southern Wine & Spirits in FloridaDespite the bragging and swirling rumors between distributors…and even though it could have…and would have changed the order pads and habits of retailers across the state of Florida, nothing changed at all.  Southern Wine & Spirits will continue to represent and distribute the portfolio of Constellation Brands which is the the world’s leading wine company.

Constellation represents many wine industry icons, as well as volume giants in their portfolio and all are monsters of the supermarket and wholesale club market.  Robert Mondavi Winery and Clos du Bois as well as Blackstone,  Estancia, Ravenswood, Kim Crawford, Toasted Head are familiar to wine lists, while brands such as Arbor Mist, Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi and even the ‘refrig’ friendly Black Box are sold everywhere. constellation also has two primary retail spirits Black Velvet Whiskey and Svedka Vodka.

Rumors had the portfolio moving to Republic-National Distributing here in Florida, which represents Constellation in other sttates…and still does. In fact the long anticipated announcement of Constellation’s signing of multi-year distribution agreements were with Southern Wine & Spirits  Republic National Distributing Company, National Wine & Spirits and even Johnson Brothers Liquor Company. There was movement overall which resulted in new appointments for 19 states in the U.S. Each distributor has the exclusive right to sell Constellation’s U.S. portfolio of wines and spirits in its market. Specifically:

Southern Wine & Spirits will have exclusive distribution rights in nine markets, consisting of Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Kentucky, New York and Pennsylvania.

Republic National Distributing Company will have exclusive distribution rights in eight markets, consisting of Colorado, Louisiana, Maryland, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas and Washington D.C.

National Wine & Spirits will have exclusive distribution rights in Indiana and Johnson Brothers Liquor Company will have exclusive distribution rights in Iowa.
