Dundee, now 88 was in Ali’s corner for every one of his fights, and was instrumental in the career of Sugar Ray Leonard, acting as cornerman for his biggest fights. Dundee was accused by George Foreman of loosening the ropes to help Ali during the ‘rope a dope’ tactics in the 1974 ‘Rumble in the Jungle‘ heavyweight title fight. Years later, he was in George Foreman’s corner , including his 1991 Heavyweight title fight against Evander Holyfield and his 1994 Heavyweight title win against then-undefeated Michael Moorer. Angelo Dundee also advised and helped train actor Russell Crowe and appeared in the movie Cinderella Man.
