Australia Allows Sales of ‘Cocaine’ Energy Drink
A controversial energy drink that was launched in the US in 2006, and then pulled from shelves after being boycotted has found a home in Australia. ‘Cocaine’, an energy drink that boasts as being more than three times stronger than Red Bull is selling well overseas. While the drink does not contain any actual cocaine, the US and UK versions have 280mg of caffeine for every 250ml can – a concentration that is illegal in Australia and New Zealand. The Australian version of the drink contains just 80mg of caffeine per can to comply with regulations, which is the same as Red Bull Cola here in the US.
